So i put a new muffler on my car today because i keep getting pulled over by the police because it was to loud. When i drove out of the shop i noticed that when my turbo spools up it wasnt as loud as it used to be and im curious if by changing the muffler it reduces the sound of the spool up ?

Yes a free flowing exhaust will change the tone of the spool in the turbo. I noticed it every time I did something to the exhaust.

What setup did you have before when the cops kept getting you?

I had a custom 3 inch turbo back exhaust with no cats.

Let me guess. No cats, no resonator.

Thought so, it's too loud with out one of those. I changed that one day a friend told me my car sounded like a honda, so that day I added a resonator to it. Theres no significant change in power with a resonator just noise level. Get one of the two, either a high flow cat or a resonator and it will bring down the noise a lot.
