Heat shield or not to heat shield?

Ok so I was replacing my 02 sensor last night. And the heat shield screws didnt want to come out, so I cut more than half of the heat shield off so I could get to the 02 sensor. I replaced the 02. No more engine light yeah!! Should I take it to a shop to remove the heat shield thats left and just leave it like that? or get a new one?

lack of the heat shield increases underhood temps which reduces performance... so replace it!

Yes, replace it with a header.

LOL, yes replace the the shield, it keeps the engine bay a little cooler with it in place.
