the MSP has an S-pipe and a J-pipe which is the downpipe and the yes there is a midpipe. The benefits from the set up really depends on what you get to replace those parts.

p.s. please use the search function there are plenty of threads that cover this topic. look for the major thread that talks about all the options available for this car.

the magnaflow is only a cat-back system. not really enough for our turbo cars. vibrant or ghl are the way to go. the ghl is a full 3in turbo back system and the vibrant also 3in is s-pipe or down pipe back. both work very well. i went for the vibrant.

That is true.
You would need a downpipe/midpipe at least to make some power.

I would go with the Apex or SLS midpipe/J-pipe combo.

If you want to do the s-pipe as well, then get the Corksport S& J combo pipe with the SLS midpipe

if i get the apex down-pipe with highflow cat does that bolt to the turbo

no. that bolts to the stock S-pipe. Corksport 2.4" or GHL 3" (With WG seperator) are the only companies offering anything to replace the S-pipe.

No.
Replaces the J and midpipe (cat section) but not the S.

Still excellent gains from just doing that.

ok guys enough of the bs let me break it down for you

approximatly your gains will be:

Catback alone (ex. Magnaflow or Apex or Greddy)- 2-5 whp
S-pipe back Downpipe alone (ex. Apex or SLS) - 15whp
Turboback Downpipe alone (GHL)- 18whp
3" S-pipe back exhaust (Vibrant, Apex) - 20-25whp
3" Turboback exhaust (GHL) - 27whp+

I personally have done many mods to my msp. The full GHL system is the best mod I ever bought for my car hands down. And if your wondering where i got these numbers, from a lot of research on these forums and personal experience. These numbers are approximate but i'm sure theyre accurate within a couple hp and the order of gains is dead on.

actually Greddy makes the SP-2 catback system and Apex has both a 2.5" and a 3" system for our cars as well (nuts)

goto "street" "Unit" . com and get the 3" GHL downpipe, best downpipe on the market, I highly recommend it. I recommend you get the catted one, it costs the same as the catless and you lose less than a 1 hp from it. If you go catless you can use the spark plug non-fouler trick to get rid of the check engine light
