I have recently added a Weapon R SW intake and Mazdaspeed exhaust (C10). The exhaust is fine but resontates inside the passenger compartment. Is there anything I can do about this such as expanding foam or some crazy thing like that? My wife has to drive this car to work every now and then..help! I also have an OBX header that does not help. Thanks

sorry to say, you're stuck with the drone until you get rid of the exhaust. on it's own, the noise is manageable but combined with a header, it's downright nasty. that being said, as soon as you get above 4k rpm, it's quiet as a whisper...

I don't even do 4k at 70 mph on the highway. I'd get a quieter exhaust if I were you, or ditch the header.

if you're in 4th you'll be above 4k on the highway... but then you'll just be downing the gas like there's no tomorrow

Thanks for the help. Lucky I did not pay a whole lot for the MS exhaust. I'm not sure what I am going to do. It would be fun if I was ummm a little younger...ok A LOT younger.
If I was running a 300+ hp uncorked monster I wouldn't care. But now I can floor it, wake up an entire block and get up to 45mph lol! At least its easy to swap out with the stock. I was also hoping to see more gains after finally putting on a high flow muffler but they are not super noticeable like when I put the header and intake on. Anyone know how to swap this out with a MS3 for about $400.00??

The MSP axleback has all the style and none of the headache.

What are you asking? I am going to install my CP-E 3" turbo back prolly on Friday. Are you looking for a stock MS3 exhaust system with 8k miles on it?

Oh no sorry about that. I was joking that maybe I could swap my Protege 5 for a Mazdaspeed 3 for 400.00.

Hahaha I feel your pain. Been there done that. Try adding a highflow mid pipe in the mix and it REALLY BECOMES LOUD
The sound of the CAI + header + high flow mid pipe + stock resinator + MAZDASPEED axle back = deafening sound between 3K & 4K rpms.
Magnaflow cat back exhaust is what stopped my ears from bleeding anymore.
So much better. In regular driving even at highway speeds its barely noticable. At full throttle under a load you can hear it and it sound really good.
I have a video of my car at full throttle in 3rd gear on the dyno. When the shop employee lets off the gas inbetween runs you can't hear my car anymore as the dyno wheel drounds it out.
Take a listen to my dyno video on my myspace page.

Can anyone confirm if PT # .0000 8M C10 is the right part number for a mazdaspeed exhaust to fit on a MP5? Looks like I'll be getting it off ebay and I want to make sure its the right now and there's no modification during the install. Here's a link to the auction... it might be completely the wrong one, but I wanna find out before I order it.

i ordered mine off ebay and it whould have fit right on, but mine doesn't have stock piping, it's now 2.5" so i had to do some cutting and welding... but mine isn't all that loud. i guess it must be the pipes, but i could be wrong. i will say though, on the the downshifts i get the SRT-4 "popping" noise and that sometimes gets a little loud.

i just got rid of my mazdaspeed exhaust! i'm now running the obx headers to a racing beat catback and i love it! sounds smooth as butter! if you want to go with something louder than stock but you hate the buzz go with this! (had it installed by protegegarage guys cause i'm right here in chicago, those guys are awesome)
