Hey Folks:

I picked up the Speed3 yesterday and was going through the hatch area and lifted the spare tire compartment. What I noticed in writing around the spare tire was (and it was made of a foam-like material) was "MPS". As in Mazda Performance Series like the Speed3 is called in Europe.

Has anyone else noticed this in their US-spec Speed3?

I'll snap up a picture later this morning to show what I'm talking about.

I noticed this as well. Probably some sharing of parts between USDM and Europe.

But enough with this, I want pics of the whole car!!!

very nice very nice!!!!!

If it snows this week, make sure to put the snows on. Snow and ice will shred the stock tires and then you'll get that annoying drone from the tires afterwards.

Quick! Get that dealer sticker off before it the paint around it fades, and leaves you with a "ghost" forever! Use a hair dryer to warm it up, and just peel it off.

Do not listen to this.

There are plenty of good reasons to not drive in the snow with summer tires, but ice "shredding" your tires is not one of them.

A dumbass vague statement, eh? Well, considering that this, http://www.msprotege.com/forum/search.php?searchid=3054436 , turns up a total of about zero useful posts, I don't think you should be saying a thing.

Why shouldn't you drive on ice with ultra-high performance summer tires, which aren't even rated for light snow? It doesn't take an engineer to figure that one out, slick.

noob? same join date. that advice speaks for itself, there are a lot more dangers than shredded tires.

I can not understand why they put them on. It should be an option.

Yeah I told them up front...no stickers and no front plate bracket. Although my state requires it and they insisted, I said "hell no"!

Well hello there, fellow law-breaker! ;)
The front end looks so much cleaner w/o a bracket to clutter it up...

...and yeah, the dealer can take their badges and stick 'em where the sun don't shine!

Hey BSTD3 <<THREADJACK>>

how did you like Werner Mazda? I just bought my new 07 mz3 from them 2 weeks ago. I am not a fan of the hatch; which is why i didnt go with the ms3; but i still took one for a spin. It might have been yours... as it was the red one they had inside....

Hey Zoom:

Doubt it was mine as it was tucked away in the back lot. Only Speed3 with Nav and homelink. Picked the car up Sat with 13 miles on the ticker.

Werner is my Miata Clubs sponsor so I had little to no problems with my purchase. Who did you deal with for your purchase?

elderlycoffee
04-02-2007, 10:35 AM
the only mazda dealers in my area are all cheapskates, cheaters, scammers and con artists...

Literally I'd have to drive over 200 miles to get to one with a healthy reputation.

ZoomVT

elderlycoffee, the same goes around here; all the mazda dealers in my area are a bunch of con artists; which is why i drove 200 miles to Werner Mazda.

BSTD3, i dealt with Tamara. She was very helpful. I think i did drive yours as it had the navi installed.
Dont worry; i was very careful. (lol)
They only had 1 red and 1 silver when i was there.

Tamara did my paperwork also. What day did you go in to drive the MS3? Mine didn't come in until about a week ago?

Bringing this thread back from the dead. In the area were the jack goes there is also a plastic Oil Cap, I guess you can throw that on there if you ever go to the dealer for an oil change.

sorry off topic, good point out on the the foam, I noticed that when I took it out of my car and put it in the garage, I didnt know what that was at the time, I later found out... What kind of club is it? A regular car club or do you get parts discounts and fancy functions? Some clubs do that..

I am the President of the local Miata club www.mstersmiata.org (http://www.mstersmiata.org) and our local dealer gives us discounts on parts, test drives on new vehicles, door prizes for events, things like that.
