Hey I got a Protege with a 1.6L, I made an short ram intake using the mass airflow adapter from autozone, When i start the car up it just wants to stumble and die at idle. When I put the air box back in then it runs great.. Any suggestions?
Also I got the same OBX header as I read some people have, it was def. worth the money, Does that anti fouler trick really work to get rid of the check engine light?

Did you reset your car by disconnecting the battery and pressing on the brake a few times after you installed? Or are you 100% the MAF is facing the right way? It sounds like you might have it backwards

You didn't remove the honeycomb part inside the MAF did you? And you're still leaving the MAF hooked up with your new intake?

i installed it the same way as it was in the airbox, so the connector was facing the same way both times

HHmmh. Is air leaking with the new one? Good seals?
MAF wires in the same place - not stretched?

Can you get a pic? I'm confused/interested about the small hole you're talking about. Is that in the MAF sensor assy?

nahhhh u gotta hang that up...unless your mounting the MAF on the OEM intake hose.
the honeycomb is a filter infront of the sensor tip. the hole is surrounding the sensor tip.
