I've been reading various posts for the better part of an hour now and came to some overall conclusions:
1.- Stay away from 03-04 auto tranny- many problems
2.- Ford Duratec motor seems pretty good overall i.e. not too many mechanical complaints/issues
3.- Doesn't seem to be any issues with manual tranny except clutch "shutter" usually when cold (didn't see anything about grinding gears, notchyness etc.)
4.- Fan module problems...the fix, replace
5.- Rust likely around door jam weather stripping
Any issues missed?
