I replaced ONE (back) exhaust hanger when I changed to a MSP oval tip axleback. The other 2 are still stock. When Im driving, the sound is all normal and good. But today I tried sitting in the rear passenger side right above the exhaust and I noticed when acclerating, there is like a droning sound, don't know how to describe it, but its like its making your ear drum vibrating. I never noticed it from the front when driving before. I checked it for leaks but there are none, I also noticed a simliar sound on a MSP + kartboy hangers + HKS exhaust.

Anyone know if this is caused by the one kartboy exhaust hanger i switched out? And now the exhaust is tigher and amplifies the exhaust vibrations into the cabin like the engine mount?

i'd check for exhaust leaks

i checked it already, there are none... you can't really hear the exhaust from the outside. sound comes mostly from the front... its only when you are inside sitting in the rear passenger side you get that sound.... doesn't happen when im driving. Which is why im thinking its the exhaust hanger bringing all the vibrations to that area of the car

maybe its an exhaust clamp, my clamp was loose and it only rung when the sound was at a certain pitch

It could be your exhaust pipe vibrating against your heat shield.I had that problem when i went with 2.5in exhaust from the cat back.

Where is the heat shield for the exhaust? is it the one where the cat is? Because I only put in the axleback, the other pipes from header down wasn't touched.

I did some more tests today and noticed that when Im acclerating to around 2.5k rpm+, I hear the noise. But once it shifts and goes below 2.5k, it'll be gone. Or if i let go of the gas it'll be gone.

My best guess right now is either the gasket between the axleback and the stock exhaust, or its that kartboy exhaust hanger at the very end. The gasket wasn't replaced when I changed out the axleback, but it doesn't sound like its leaking from the outside though. Its not loud at all like theres a hole somewhere. Could it still be a leak?
