On these CX-7's is it better to keep the engine cover on this beast since that airduct is in the front of it, or to take the cover off and let the TMIC breathe up top there?
This is my first turbo'd vehicle so still learning guys...

That is not an engine cover.
It is the ram air ducting for the TMIC.
Leave it on unless you mount a hoot scoop to feed it (if so please send pictures to me)
Or unless you mount a FMIC.

thank you very much for the info. I just hate leaving that hunk of junk on top of it, I would love for that TMIC to be visable when I pop the hood for people who want to see the engine. It's just not satisfying nor impressive when I pop the hood and there is a big plastic cover sitting there :eek:

I don't care for the engine cover either, but it is definetly better than a hood scoop with all the attended problems.

i wouldnt mind the hoodscoop on this car, since the grille in the front is mammoth to begin with
