View Full Version : So You Can Roll Down All the Windows w/ the Remote?
Apparently so ...
As you approach the car, click once to unlock the driver door, release, click again to unlock the other doors but this time hold the button down for a few seconds.
Anyone wanna try it?
I'm getting my MS6 in 2-3 weeks so I can't.

yeah...the first day i got it, it was raining. And it happened to do just that without knowing...all the sudden all 4 windows go down lol i was pushing the button again to see if they would go up...between the time it took me to remember how i had done it, plus the time i wasted trying to do it when i realize how i had done it...plus the time i realize it wasnt going to work....plus the time it took me to run to the car to get them up...i had an aquatic ms6.
out of anger i totally forgot that feature...have never used it since. lol but im gonna go ahead and use it tomorrow! hehe

learn something new everyday in this forum...love it!
Try keeping the button pressed and see if the sunroof opens too. My 330i does that.

Elaborate??
the sunroof doesn`t auto open. i think the cx-7 does this though. You can use the key in the door handle to open and close all the windows as well. Turn key one way and hold it. I`m not aware of a away to put the windows up with the remote.

Only on GT models. The Sports can only roll them down with the remote - sucks.

stick your key in the driver's side door and turn to lock all doors and hold the key...the windows will go up. just make sure you hold the key until they go up all the way or they will stop when you let go of the key. you can also make all your windows go down by turning your key to unlock the doors and holding it.

I just thought of something. If holding the unlock down makes the all windows go down....
I wonder if holding the lock button will make all the windows go up? One for lock, then again for the horn and then one last time to close the windows..
I will try after work :)

I was going to try that also...or just try holding it down longer the first and second times. When I get my car back from the body shop I plan to try all of these new tricks I've learned. I've been without it since the beginning of the month and its killing me to have to drive around in a Chevy Malibu.

I just found this out the hard way (i.e. I came back to my car and found all the windows down!!). I can't say I was amused. In fact, I just put up another thread about it..!

Well, I haven't found a way to close the windows using the key fob. I verified pressing and holding unlock a 3rd time will open them. But then when I tried to close them by pressing the lock button 3 times and holding I only got a 2nd beep from the horn. I had to walk out and press the button on the driver's door handle to get them back up. Oh well. If anyone figures it out let us know. Maybe I'll play again tomorrow. I didn't want to disturb the neighbors by honking the horn over and over again.

Yeah the 3 times "lock" doenst work :(
However, if you let go of the unlock button before all the windows are down, they stop!

Here's a link to the owners manual. I've looked but I haven't been able to find anything about rolling them up with the remote.

I can't believe that this is a new thread.
It has been well established for over a year that you can put the windows down with the remote, but not up.
If you're having problems with accidentally putting the windows down, make sure you have had this TSB performed:

That means I'd have to like, take the key thing out of my pocket and stuff. Yuck.

No...you can roll the windows back up by pressing the button on the door handle. I did it the other day when I was playing with it.

Ok I'll sum up everything into 1 post.
*You CAN roll down the windows on both model speeds utlizing the unlock feature and holding it(pushing once to unlock then holding on the 2nd press). If you let go before the windows are 75%ish down they will stop in place, past this point the go into "auto down" mode and go all the way down even if you let go(i can only cofirm this auto down on mine since I have not had the update done).
*The roll up feature is only available on the gt models with the advance keyless entry. IN addition gt model owners have the button on the door to utilize.

So with a non-GT there isn't even a way to roll up the windows using the key in the lock?
So with a non-GT there isn't even a way to roll up the windows using the key in the lock?
In a non-GT put the key in the doorlock, turn clockwise and hold it there, this will lock the doors and roll up all 4 windows.
