Ok well my fuel door no longer springs open...the latch releases but I have to wedge the lever up and then go to the door and pry it open with the key...the dealership said they are booked and the soonest they can get me in is 2wks...which doesn't help me fill my tank...so does anyone out there happen to know how/where the spring works on the ms6? Generally there is a little metal clip that does it, which I'm assuming probably fell off..They had to put a new fuel door on it about a month ago so I'm guessing something didn't get put back on firmly...

No spring as far as I can see. There is a plunger type tensioner on the hinge that causes it to "spring out", but no visible spring - it looks to be a small sealed unit. So no real help, just some info.

hmm ok so a plugerish unit on the hinge? mine is bare, so perhaps this is the part missing...

Yup, sorry I don't have a camera at work. There is a silver cylinder with a small black "piston" the contacts the fuel lid hinge, pushing it open.

ah man TheMan you are THE MAN...hmm so hehe where would I be able to get a copy of that parts deck at?

Ok so if I'm seeing it correctly then the 438 part colored maroon, I need to make sure that tab isn't broken off or bent it...thats essentially the "spring tension"?
