SP 2.3 Mods

So I own a 2005 sp 2.3 and am looking for a good turbocharger kit. I am pretty new to the mod/racing world and need to be pointed in the right direction on where to start. My car is an automatic and I hear that putting a turbo in it can blow the transmission. Any suggestions?
