I bought my msp in June last year. sincethen i have had to put the car in the shop a total of 4-6 times now most of the time for the same thing. i bought the extra warranty and everything.
I went to do my emmissions test twice already and failed because they cannot connect to the onboard computer on the car. now im fed up and i want to know if anyone has had this problem?
Im bout to get it written off as a lemon so look out for a part out soon because im about to call themtomorrow and see.

Is the unichip still in the car when you go for testing?

So- without the unichip, you are able to connect to the car with your scantool and it lights up and provides you with data? When you bring it in for testing, what does their tool do? Does it not light up, are your monitors not ready?? Do you have to wiggle the obdII connector to get things to work? Maybe a shitty connection between their tool and your plug??

I had a problem with my mom's van, it ran fine but there was a short in a ground that would occasionally clear the memory in the ECU. There are 5 I believe codes of rediness for emissions testing in the ECU. It's probably the ECU isn't reading all the codes. I think you need tp have 4 out of the 5 to be able to smog the car, it may be different in other states. I have a question for you though, you aren't trying to go smog the car with 440's are you?
