yeah, that's a common problem with the msp. either replace it with something better, or wait for a day it works. For some reason the sub just decides to work certain days.

i believe its the AM button. Top left of the head unit. hold it down till it beeps. this turns on/off the NF which will turn the sub on/off.

exactly correct

had to look it up but you beat me to the answer since it's been so long since i switched mine out lol, besides before long you will be like the rest of us and replace both the kenwood headunit and the kenwood sub that will both break

Go thru your menu and make sure the SW is activated. I'm running a Pioneer now and the stock sub works fine. You can turn it off just like you could on the oem Kenwood.

check this, my sub had the same prob. I almost upgraded the sub but found out my stock RCA plugs went bad. Look at that possibility. Then as i am replacing those, i find that the RCA outputs in the back of the deck are bad also. I reset the radio and magically it worked after replacing the RCA plugs. Weird, so give it a shot and see if that works. GL and godspeed.

I had this same problem with mine...I pulled out the sub and looked at it and of the two wires that connect to the subs magnet from the speakerwire only one of them was soldered on....just resolder the other one and you should be fine

just make sure NOT to touch the cone with the soldering iron, or else it will either bend the cone or worse....break through it
