Yeah there was another video somewhere here in which they compared a Honda Civic SI, Mazdaspeed3 and a VW on the dyno and you could see it rock between shifts.

Anyone know if they are coming out with stronger side mounts? I have the better AWR rear mount already.

I dont see any otor mount breaking in that video. Did you?
All cars do that. Did you check the video of the new BMW 3 series the same thing.:bs:

They don't have to break in the video but the pull on the motor makes some people just wonder about stronger side mounts as well. If we mod our cars i.e. intake, turbo back system, TMIC or FMIC swap, and possibly more will the mounts hold out? That's why I asked the question are there stronger side mounts possibly in the works. I will be doing some major mods in time to my car would love to see stronger mounts.

Yeah I wouldn't blame any mount breakage on that, but it sure doesn't help that bolt from backing out.

I have a vid of my MSP on the dyno, and the motor hardly moves... now granted the run is done with front and rear poly mounts, but the comment of "all cars do that" is not true. You don't want the motor moving that much all the time.

The last run on the vid is a underhood shot.

but yeah, wow that 3s engine moves a ton! I've seen Proteges on a dyno and it didn't move that much I thought?

Is with an AWR bottom mount (70 duro)
Stable enough to keep the box fan on there.

Nice improvement. Switching the camera angles during video hurts my brain though.

Who sells a front poly mount for the MS3? I have the back poly mount of 70 d.

Lots of motor movement can be a reason why mounts wouldn't break. The mount absorbs the force of the engine more gradually over a larger distance.

Of course, Mazda tends to have a complete dead area in their mounts to absorb NVH, where the mount is providing little resistance to movement. This allows the engine to build up momentum while it's moving, and that can lead to broken mounts.

I much prefer a solid (but still soft) mount.
