Yes, you will not pass emissions test depending on what state you're in

ok, so i've been looking at buying a cat. my corksport exhaust eliminated my second cat and is 2.4 inch piping. all the high flow cat converters im finding are either 2.25, 2.5 or 3 inch piping. which should i get? i know some welding is required....

You'll have to get an exhaust pipe expander and expand the CS exhaust to 2.6" to slide over the flange on the cat.
The only thing is, the welds will look like ass since its stainless + mild grade steel

Unless you have a cat-less header... why are you putting the 2nd cat back in?

could i just cut off the flange on the cat and just weld my CS piping in its place so i wouldnt have to expand the pipe? wouldnt the pipe crack or break if i tried to expand it? also, should i use any type of flexible coupling?

the welded joint would be VERY weak if you just butted the two ends together...you can expand one end to slide over the other for a strong joint. no, it won't crack.

Should i go with a ceramic or metal core? The metal core one says "for offroad use only" but also says 40% better exhaust flow compared to the ceramic and cost double. Would there be a sound difference between the 2? Would they both past emmisions tests?
