View Full Version : What type Airfilter for CAI do you use?
I have the Mazdaspeed CAI with the stock/standard, cone shaped, paper filter element. I was just wondering what everyone else was using? Dry-flow paper type or the K&N oil type? or perhaps something else?

since we have an maf, i would suggest dry flow. i've heard of instances where 'supposedly' oil from the filter could seep thru and possibly damage the sensor. like i said tho i've only heard of this, but it does make sense. thats my .02. dryflow is only one i've ever used on any car.

I have an oil type. You just have to be very carefull with the oil. Even a little too much and it may get sucked thru and onto your MAF. If your carefull and oil it slowly, letting it wick before adding more you should be fine

AEM DryFlow. I don't have to worry about over-oiling the filter and fouling the MAF/IAT.
Yeah, I think I'll stick to the dry flow. Wondering about sizes tho, for the Mazdaspeed CAI anyone know what size filter goes with it or are they all basically the same or generic? Part #? Maybe a link............(ricer) runs off to check AEM's site.
Thanks for the replies
