I just drove State College, PA to Ijamsville, MD and back on one tank of 91 octane... 354.4 miles round trip. When I fill up I'll get the mileage numbers, but its definitely going to be above 30mpg. What's some of other people's longest range / best mpg?

I get around 356 every tank and I don't think it's that great. My best was 415miles driving from NC to PA.

When I do full highway it's like 420ish miles between fills, I've done the math and gotten 36.2-36.6mpg a few times :)

That was before turbo though so who knows now. I haven't done any long trips since last year, way too busy.

Same here, saw 420ish once...averaged out to about 34.4 mpg.

Holy crap... that's amazing... I only usually get 320 miles per tank and about 27-29 mpg with combined City/Hwy driving. What size is the tank in the 01+ cars? Any different than the 99-00?

Mine was all highway, one straight run. I tried my best to stay out of the turbo and stay at a dead on 70mph. I was driving for efficiency as well.

I think the MSP has an almost 15 gallon tank... 14.something gallons. Manual tranny too.

I've hit 380 miles mixed driving and then the light came on. I would really like to hit 400 one day.Too bad there isn't any cruise control because that would help a lot especially on long trips.

yeah, I've had the benefit of taking mine on a 750 mile one way drive... All highway as far as I could go without chickening out. :D

Ahhh, there ya go... I have a manual tranny too, but its geared different than you MSP folks and I have only a 12.5 gallon tank. Makes a bit of a difference. I'm at 4k rpm @ 80 mph. I just filled up and it was an avg of 30.2 mpg, so not bad considering...

I think we're at 4krpm @ 80mph too.. the MSP tranny isn't geared differently than the normal Proteges unless your tranny is a 1.8 or something

...light comes on and i fill up i'm doing 305 miles+- like 11.5 gals??I'm getting at least 425 per tank. It is amazing. But I have the DX Auto 1.6 Engine. So I'm guessing that is why. This sure beats the 22 M.P.G. I got with my Cadillac Seville. :)

Yeah I had a 1.8... now a 2.0 but I kept the old tranny... that sucks.
