Gas cap? Since your tale of woe includes "I got gas today", that would be my first guess.
Are you sure the CEL was gay? Was the red panel illumination just kind of pink looking, maybe?

ok idk how gay the cel was but i was using a figure of speech so anway where is the port to read the cels?

and would it have taken this long to get a cel for gas cap Well, didn't you say you'd filled it up today, and then had a CEL? It's worth checking to see if the cap is on tight/straight, it happens all the time as a loose cap will throw an emissions CEL.
I've gotten a CEL for a gas cap before. It took hours to register.
Go check your gas cap. If it's even a little lose, I'll bet that's what it is.

just went out and check it and took it off and put it back on. turned on the car and it was still there

yea if your gas cap is loose, then you will have a major Evap leak and throw a code. Tighten your gas cap and reset the light and see if it comes back

Mine was still there after I tightened my cap.
Every time I throw a CEL, it takes a few times starting the car afterwards before the computer realizes -- hey, everything's alright now!

It won't go away just 'cause you tightened the cap. You'll still need to read/clear it. Did it seem loose?
Edit: wow, 3 people posted the same info in the time it took me to post. Greetings, hello and welcome to the Department of Redundancy Deparment.

yeah unplug you negative battery thing from the battery aand that will reset the ECU and make the CEL go way, if it comes back then u need to take it to a CEL reader

dude seriously stop touching your car and just go to any auto place and get the code read first. that is as genuine of advice i can give you

Dude, go get the fuckin code read. CEL's are there for a reason, get it checked by autozone or something. its free.

should it clear after normal driving conditions. Or he needs to disconnect the negative connection on the battery?

what he needs to do is stop messing with it because it sounds like he has no idea what he's doing.

if you fix the problem then under normal driving the ecu will realize its fixed and go away

well maybe if it wasnt 11:00 at night i would go get it fucking read. i was just seeing if some people could help me out. so pull the dildo out of your ass and shove it in your mouth.
i dont understand why people like to state the obvious. of course i thought about getting it read. but i thought that there might be somehting i could do to fix it now or narrow it down to what it could be

i'm not sure why you are getting mad here. you're acting like i was directly insulting you. your car has a code, which tells you precisely what's wrong with your car. i would just wait until tomorrow and go get it read somewhere, instead of trying to troubleshoot the problem blindly which may lead to other problems. cool?

i just hate when people tell me not to mess with my car cause i dont know what i am doing.
