engine compartment

I was under my cx-9 today and noticed that it does not have a cover (skirt, plastic thing) under the engine. It looks like there are fastner points there that look like there should be one

Does anyone know if there should be?

I think you and I already compared notes on this, but figured I would post for others. It is the same on mine. The only cover is a small one by the radiator area. The main engine block is uncovered.

The way the auto makers try to squeeze every mpg and by the looks of it I thought there would be one. those covers also keep things a lot cleaner. oh well eaiser to change the oil
