I have bought another head from a member and when it gets here it is going to get PnP. what else should I get when I do this?

You might want to look into getting the issues fixed with that head before you port it.

might as well port and polish your intake and exhaust manifolds while your at it, and remove the vcts on the intake mani, or get a 626 intake mani and PnP that

I want to get a 626 mani also. looking for the right exhaust manifold. I have cams coming in soon and I want to be ready. Ijust want to know if new springs woulld be in order for a pnp head

New valve springs are definitely a good idea w/ new cams as well as a new head.

yeah I was looking into that but they are very expensive. 2-300 if I remember right

You could just do what I did on the I & E ports for my Trans Am... I just cleaned them up good and did a gasket match. Polish the exhaust side.

If you're going to go to town on them, then I'd tend to think you'd want to have good valve work done as well, if not some flow bench work to verify your gains. Things start to get much more expensive then.

Your cams should be fine as they are not really a wear item. Now you can bend or break them if you've caused the head to warp. If you're going thru the expense and effort to PNP, then you should have the head rebuilt with all new valvetrain, after its been pressure tested to make sure its good to go.

You can try extrudehone. It is a liquid with the polishing compound suspended in it. The cost varies about 400 to 600 bucks. You can also try NSN they will do it for you, need to call to get price-Good luck(drive2)

I was quoted 750-3500. depending on what I do not know. they also did a mild port and polish job in house. I am just going to go with a vendor off the forum just to stay loyal I guess. if steve at nsn can get the job done that would be awesome. he is a stand up guy.
