I noticed there were several Mustang owners on the forums. Show us what you've got and tell us what you have in it.
Here's what we have...
Mine: 1998 Mustang GT 5-Speed
http://impactgraphix.org/Pictures/RedMustangFramed.jpg
We haven't begun the modding on mine yet. I have a Saleen wing. We need to redo the seals because they are leaking a bit since the new engine went in last Summer. We are also going to change out the speedo to the 140 mph one. I'm deciding on wheels I like still. The owner before my BF (I bought it from my BF) thought it would be a good idea to paint a lot of the interior plastic pieces (door handle bezels, plate around the shifter, trim around the A/C knobs, etc.) red. They don't match the car's color & remind me too much of being "ricey." So, I'll be on the hunt for new pieces at Fun Ford this year. I'd like to go Billet on some of them.
Boyfriend: 1993 Mustang GT Automatic
http://impactgraphix.org/Pictures/BlackMustangSide.jpg
He has all sorts of mods that I really can't think of off the top of my head at the moment. I know he has the LX tails & Billet door handles & A/C knobs. He has engine & exhuast mods, but I forget what. He also wants to do the "Back in Black" interior.
He also has a 1983 Mustang LX Notchback sitting in the sideyard waiting for an overhaul & engine transplant. This will be his street legal racer. We've got too many projects in the fire right now, so it is patiently waiting for some TLC. There is also a wrecked 1991 Mustang LX sitting over there that was the engine donor for my car along with being the parts car for all our Mustangs. LOL!

I bought mine back in 88 and did some work to it last year. It ran strong and went 197,000 miles before I decided to rebuild it and make it faster.
I sent the engine to my friend the master engine builder. The upper and lower intakes were ported and so where the heads. Added a set of 1.6 roller rockers to the valvetrain. Ceramic coated headers, X pipe, and a 2.5" stainless steel exhaust system was added.
The T-5 manual transmission was beefed up and completely rebuilt. King Cobra Clutch, new flywheel, and B&M shifter were added. The rear end was rebuilt and a 3.73:1 ring gear and axle girdle were also added.
Maximum motor sport lower control arms, SVO upper control arms, B springs, and KYB struts and shocks were installed to complete the suspension work.
A set of GTS seats and new carpet completed the interior. I'm planning on painting it later on this spring.
Its been a great car. It was a bang for the buck purchase when I bought it. Reliable, mod friendly, and fast.

I have an '06 GT 5-speed. SO far only mods are a K&N drop-in filter, and an SLP axel-back exhaust. Future mods will be a Whipple supercharger, CLT CAI, predator tuner with custom tune from Brenspeed, 4.10's and an offroad x-pipe. That should put me at around 430hp, the safe limit before having to forge the internals. Also should put me in the mid-high 11's.

Thanks. You've got two nice platforms to work with. I'm partial to the FOX body style. For less than 13K you got 225HP & 300 FT LBS of torque, forged pistons, shorty headers, 5 speed tranny, and solid performance.

I'm a sucker for the Fox body. I have been in love with them since I started driving. I love the fact that you can get so much out of them for so little. :)

One of my best summers was spent driving this baby. 1985 Ford Mustang GT conv. w/no cats, tri-flow Flowmasters and 3" tubing. Only engine mods were performance plugs and ACCEL yellow wires. I did install a decent aftermarket audio system though. Only owned her for less than a year because I moved to a different state.

i thought thay changed the body in 1993?
used ot have a stock 1967 back in the day with a mild 302 (mild as in mild cam) all stock every panel had a problem, no hubcaps. mom got rid of it! but had been in the family since 1968 and the body had like 350,000 miles on it. just had 3 motors also, but original tranny and rearend.

- 65mm BBK Throttle Body
- MAC CAI
- MAC 1 5/8" Long Tube Headers
- MAC Power Cell
- MAC Mufflers
- Electric Fan Conversion
- Bowman Stage 3 Shift Kit
More to come...
331 Stroker Motor with:
- AFR185 Heads
- Crane 1.6 Roller Rockers
- DDS Main Support
- Trickflow Intake
- Trickflow Stage 2 Cam
- 75mm Throttle Body
- Eagle Forged Crank
- Eagle I-Beam Rods
- Molly Racing Piston & Ring Set
- Balanced to 28 Ounces & Blueprinted

i'm not sure really. i believe he has it on craigslist. i think his asking price is way high, just to keep flakers away. its got under 60000 orginal miles. i think he will be able to get somewhere around 12, thats what i see others selling for. i have no idea what he wants for it though, i always low ball him and say 4000 lol

Well Hell since we are talking about mustangs i'll chime in.
Keeping in the spirit of my mustang is part of the resaon i bought my MS3
1985 Mustang SVO
2.3 ltr .030 overbore
Stock crank/rods
ARP bolts/studs throughout
P&P head with bigger valves and highlift cam (whopping .420 over .390)
Fully ported and match upper/lower intake
65mm TB (SN95 donor)
T3/T4 turbo 50 trim (good for 30+ psi of boost)
Currently a log style header, but i also have a All =length tubular header
3" DP, 2.5" dual exhaust, no cat, no mufflers(actually quiet)
Custom FMIC
Stock computer w/ Piggyback chip, 65# inj, 255 fuel pump, MAF converted 90mm MAF Mallory Ignition w/ 2step
upgrade 8.8 rearend
FMS upper control arms
Lots of gauges (11 of them)(most autometer, one WBo2 meter)
etc
etc..........
Last run on the dyno was 322WHP and 346WTRQ (posted dyno sheet in the dyno thread area)
This was on 26psi of boost 29* of total timing and a little torco added to 5-6 gals of 93 pump.
New mods are the tubular header and redesigned IC setup. Future mod is Methonal injection and 30 psi of boost. going for 400whp.
After dumping so much money into this, i had to get a car that was turboed from the factory and ran good. My SVO runs nice, WHEN it runs. Shes a tempermental little Biotch :D

I traded a 2004 V6(Sonic Blue, Loved that color) in for my MSP. I know it wasnt a GT, but it impressed me how fast it was for a 6. I raced a GT (sure it was stock) and he only had my by like 1/3 car. I dont think thats bad. I had a BBK T.B., Cold Air, and a Flowmaster.
I still kinda miss it. I wish I woulda got the Mach 1 instead. They only wanted $24,995 for it new(payed $19,900 for the V6), but I knew I couldnt afford the insurance!

Our current stang is the 93 Cobra.
Before that we had a 95 Cobra.
And before that we had a 95 GT that was being converted to a Cobra. That is the one that had the most work done to it. Hubby did a tranny swap and all that. He had just gotten it the way he wanted it and a lady in a minivan turned right in to him. It did get repaired but it just wasn't the same...to him.
After that we drove to Chicago to get the black one. He never really fell in love with that one. We didn't have it very long once he saw the 93 for sale.
The 93 is pretty much stock except for some gauges, intake, and exhaust. Seems like she should have more mods as much time as he spends with her:) But in all fairness she has had three different paint schemes on her hood. And I think two different hoods. That stuff takes time I guess....at least that's what I tell myself... It's actually kind of funny. I took that quiz that asks you questions to find out what kind of sports car you are. Turns out I'm a mustang!!! I thought it was funny because I've always told him he should have married a mustang as much time as he spends with them:) He just smiles.

My Dad had a 40th Anniversary Edition Mach 1 but he babied it too much. LOL! He drove it nice and slow. I couldn't figure out what the point in owning it was if you weren't going to drive it like it was meant to be driven. He wouldn't even let me try to drive it because I didn't know how to drive a stick at the time. I don't think I even rode in it! :(

Haha. Yeah, I put the quiz code on my MySpace page(myspace.com/escapechic) (http://www.myspace.com/escapechic) and I showed him. I hadn't gotten around to changing the code to put a pic of his Cobra in there though so It still showed a new mustang. He said, "Where's the pic of mine??" So I obliged him and changed the code. We have pics up all over our house of her. There's more pics of her than me. LOL
It's weird about the VIN being strange. I wonder if all 93's are like that? kind of lumped in to one category. Did they ever make an auto Cobra?
Funny VIN things do happen. My friend just bought a Mazda 3 Sport 4 door and her VIN came up as Sport Touring. She does have some options a touring would have, and some options a Sport would have. She's got all the airbags, but she's missing things like the traction control. She said if it really were a touring it should have that. She only payed for the sport so she's fine with it. I told her she has a hybrid:)

And mine..
2002 Mustang GT, bought new and modded pretty heavily starting 6 months after purchase.
I put a Vortech V2-SQ blower on it with an SCT dyno tune
30 lb injectors (getting replaced with 55#'s this year - only thing keeping me from 400+ HP)
Lighting 90 MM MAF
Bullitt Brakes with 13.1 inch brembo rotors up front. Think they're 11.5 in the rear.
Bilstein shocks and struts
03 Cobra Independent rear with 31 spline axles and the stock 3:55 gear ratio
Steeda Tri-Ax shifter
Welded torque boxes
Steeda Full length zinc coated subframe connectors with torque box reinforcement (LOVE This mod more than any of the others)
Steeda sport springs up front, H&R Racing Springs in the rear
Steeda Power pipe (good for 2-3# more boost depending on weather)
Steeda dual high flow fuel pumps
SLP catted X Pipe and Bassani 03 Cobra catback
Ford Racing parts Aluminum driveshaft
Autometer boost and electric fuel gauges
UPR Stainless rear bumper inserts and Mach 1 chin spoiler
Nitto 555R drag radials (which do nothing for my 60')
Car ran high 12's back in 2003 before the rear end went in. That was also when I was at 360 HP. Last time I dyno'd it came out at 393 RWHP and 370 Torque with it starting to go lean around 5900. I need new injectors to fix that.
All of these pics are from 2003, I haven't had the time to update them due to life, jobs, other hobbies and getting married.

He's right. Forged motors, 31 spline rears that dont snap axles as easily and a pulley change and exhaust away from 450 RWHP. The seats kick ass too.

Vortech V2 SQ Supercharger at 10psi, custom intercooler, NX ntercooler sprayer, full exhaust, SCT tuned by Turbo People of NY. 31 Spline axles, FRPP Differential, short throw, carbon fiber cobra r hood painted over, 03 cobra front bumper, wing delete, and more. Made 405hp 393tq without the nitrous spray. Its race weight was 3200lbs so it kept up with the bolt on and pullied cobras

Turbonetics kit....actually, the hellion kits ive heard nothing but good things about. Dont know if they make them for the new models tho. Kenne bells are nice but turbo v8 FTW. Superchargers are hell on the belt.

Yeah FR/Whipple is definitely an option also. Obviously there's Roush too, but they're just price gougers in my opinion. The turbo setup seems to add a lot more power for similar cost though.
Am I wrong in saying there would be more reliability issues with a Turbo setup?

it can go both ways. The superchargers can snap your belt after a while and leave you stuck. They also put more strain on the motor because your using power to make power. Turbo is just using useless exhaust gases to make power

I guess everyone here is a drag racer... Do you all feel the same about your Mazdas? I have always liked the combination of speed and handling.
This is my National Solo and Pro solo winning 98' Cobra. It has 36K miles and was purchased new as a racecar! I do track events also on the off season and instruct at 3 local race tracks in the summer.

Not everyday you see a track driven mustang...especially on these forums but I dig it! Must be an entertaining challenge to make the most of all the monster hp/tq on the track...although I bet it helps to have those insane meats you've got on all 4 corners!

It does help! She will do 4.4 0-60 and pull 1.33 G's autocrossing, 1.45 G's in braking, thus the very supportive seats. They allow you to stop "gripping" the steering wheel and drive with a fine touch so you can feel what the car is doing.

No, not everyone. I am building my '66 Mustang in a Pro-Touring form. It'll be quick, but it will be primarily used for Autocross and open track days.

Mustangs are like Tampons: there are a million of them out there and every p*ssy has one. :-)
(stooges)
Did you know that over 90% of Mustangs made since 1985 are still on the road? The other 10% made it home :-)
I love the smell of smack in the evening....

That video is silly. He is using the slowest worst mustang you can buy. A V6 convertible despite the fact he says it has 300hp its a V6 with the base suspension package.

Saw that vid a while back. Typical biased Topgear. I love topgear but they hate american cars. Period.
They once had an NSX beat a vette in a straight out drag race.
