Hey everyone I want to get my mp5's computer reflashed with the mp3 software. I work for a Mazda dealer and the guys in the shop tell me that I need a serial number and an as built number off of an mp3.

Could someone with an mp3 please give me their serial # and the as built #. The as built number is located on the computer itself. Im not sure what number it is so if you could give me all of them that would be great.

Thanks

When you flash a computer like this will it stay? Could it easily revert back to the original setup? What exactly does flashing mean?

basically its like installing a new version of windows on your computer

you strip the old version off and install the new. If anything screws up and it doesn't work, you just reinstall the old version

Flash is just a fancy term for reprogram

It is 'permanent' in that it won't revert if you disco the battery or anything. Someone on the other board is exploring buying the capability to re-flash ECUs for us! WooHoo!

Let us know cause I will probably try and do this at my local mazda dealership if its a $100 or cheaper. I know I guy that just got his ECU re-flashed on his MSP and it was only $77
