i need to know what to do about my msp. i was on my way home from work and it was making a weird loud noise so i pulled over at the store and checked everything. i pulled the dip stick and there was no oil. the day before i took it to the transmission shop to have it serviced. so i put more oil in it and it was going ok then the noise came back louder than before. then i was almost home when it sounded like it all went to shit. sounded like all kinds of shit was broke. so i need some help on finding out what broke and what i need to buy to fix it. thanks to all who can help.

I wouldnt buy shit to fix it, who ever did your transmission probably left something undone or maybe even left you dry on oil. People that work at these shops these days worry me, I would call the shop and let them know about what happened before anything.

you have reason to believe the trans shop had something to do with no oil in your motor? Does it turn over....sounds like it may be broke internals...

i contacted the manager at the tranny shop and of course they said no they had no reason to mess with the oil. i can still start the car but i will die out and it makes the freddy kruger movie metal on metal sound.

Transmission shop aside, when was the last time you actually checked your oil? When was the last time you had the oil changed?

Your internals are most likely shot. The only real way to figure out what ALL damage was done is to take it to a shop (or you do it yourself) and take the engine apart. Any engine dry is not a happy engine.

Stop. HAMMERTIME.
Ok, on a serious note..
Take some time before you post and you hit the "reply" button. Check your spelling, wording, etc. It hurts my brain to make sense of your nonsense.
For someone who was running his car on no oil I suggest you let the shops take care of this. Unless, you really think you can handle it. You'd actually need to take the engine out, that'd be the easiest way, I think. That is no fun what so ever. A shop can tell you exactly what is broken and what not as to were you seem to be running into this blind.
The foam seems odd to me though..

yea but you definitely aced the retardedness test. why would you keep trying to start the car, with no oil??? you probably melted your pistons onto the cylinder walls. good luck

You aren't.
In situations like this you need to be clear. We are trying to help. It's hard to understand what all is going on. Sure, it's easy to translate but not all the time.

I'm still confused on this foam/sponge piece.
Here's an idea. You have a camera handy?

i got like 3k, but i dont want to blow it all on a new motor. i just want to sell it. if i take all the aftermarket stuff off, im hoping my extended warrenty can come in handy.

Well, that's the easy way out..
Just take it into a shop and have them do a look-see.

but i still want to get rid of it. unichip, hardpipes, and extra transmission would be the only thing i could sell off it. the big brake kit, act cluch, and quaife diff would have to stay.

What is this thread really about? Your car having issues or you wanting to sell it?

As for being graded on spelling/grammar/punctuation... that will always be the case when the reader has had more than English 101 in college and gives a shit about communication skills, and odds are that at some point a similar person will be reading your application or resume, or reviewing your work. Realize that most of us who care about that aren't trying to pick a fight. I for one am just hoping that when it counts, you can get your ideas across clearly and without confusion, for your own sake professionally. I personally won't hire someone who might make my company look less than fully literate to those that they communicate with. You seem smart enough, so I'm sure that's an issue we can put to bed.
As for your situation, you're in a really tough spot. Fixing the engine out of warranty will cost thousands. Selling your car "as-is" with a blown engine will cost you thousands. I wish I could say for sure which was the best route for you. If you planned on keeping your car and getting your money's worth out of it as transportation for at least a couple more years, I think you'd be money ahead to fix it. If you're dead set on getting rid of it and you have some good mods to offer (like the EMS, Quaife), then I'd recommend putting it up on this forum "as-is" and detailing your car's condition and mods list. It probably wouldn't happen overnight, but someone might jump at the chance to get a good MSP that only needs a rebuild with forged internals, and you'll get better than blown up trade-in money. This would also require you to get a solid opinion or two as to exactly what is wrong with your motor, which won't be free. Either way you go, I feel for you and wish you luck. That's a tough spot to be in.

I am confused....you had these build pieces in this car, and it mysteriously lost engine oil? Another bump for more info.....How many miles on this MSP?

2K buys you a built motor. someone over in the for sale section is selling one. $1k to install it. problem solved. (thumb)

i have had a nightmare trying to get warranty things fixed with no mods as far as the dealer was concerned. the weasel out of anything they can for some reason.
i wouldnt be shocked if it was teh tranny place that f-it up. its not uncommon for a place to be looking to drain the trans and get the oil drain instead. they probably did that and intended to refill it and forgot. of course this means nothing if they wont own up to it, which they wont.
i would say go to a yard and scope a 2.0 from a p5 and swap it, if you want to try to keep cost down. otherwise buy a forged and pop that in as somebody mentioned. then up the boost.
its all $$ dependant i suppose.

That right there is probably the best solution if you're wanting to unload it quickly.

i have the perfect solution for you, hold a big kegger somewhere and have all the profits go to the "diggler needs a new motor fund" search your local junkyards for a new motor or buy one from ken and you are good to go. then download the how-to, buy like $60 in tools and swap the motor over a weekend. Then you take apart your old motor and rebuild it nice. Then you just wait for the junkyard motor to fail in a few years or a few track days and then drop in the built motor sex
