1.5L to 1.8L

will a 1.8L still bolt up to the transmission on a 1.5L??

Just put a 97 Kia Sephia 1.8 into my 98 Protege that had a 1.5 in it. I used the transmission that was on the 1.5 but used the 1.8 starter. Had to buy a 98 Protege ECU and rewire the harness plugs from the 1.5 to the 1.8 configuration. Tedious but couldn't find a 98 1.8 harness and got tired of waiting.
