I joined the CEL club today with 15,293 miles and a p2006 code.
P2006 Intake Manifold Runner Control Stuck Closed
From what I've read so far this is a common code for the MS3/MS6/CX-7. It has something to do with a spring not being able to do it's job below a certain temperature. This is funny because it was 20 F here today and over the last few weeks it has been below zero almost every day, and the code just showed up today.

Damn you, I read this yesterday, then on my way home from work the CEL came on!
I went to the dealership this morning and they diagnosed P2006. The Comment was modified IMRC System to correct.

Yeah, from what I've heard from the dealer, some sort of rubber manifold in the intake hardens when it gets cold out, so it is unable to open and close correctly. All they do is modify somehow so it stops. But if it happens a second time, they order a new spring from Mazda to replace the old one.
Hope that helps a bit.

It does, thanks! Lets just hope it stays off.

I was just gonna let it go until it gets warmer and/or there is a recall. :D
I plan to call my dealer to let them know I have the code.
Update...
I e-mailed Mazda Canada two weeks ago to complain about the CEL and someone from Mazda Canada called me back the next day saying that they are aware of the CEL P2006 and a replacement part left Japan early February for North America Mazda dealers. He told me that by no later than this spring they should have another recall to have the part replace to get rid of the P2006. All 2.3l DISI Turbo motor will need to have the part replace, CX-7, MS3 and MS6.
If you want to be on a high-priority at your dealer, make a similar complaint

Well, when I went to work this morning it was 15F and the CEL was still on and when I left work it was 37F and the CEL turned off right after the initial startup gauge lightshow. This makes me very happy.....untill tomorrow morning when it's 15F again.(ughdance)

don't waste your some with the temp fix. My dealer says the only true fix is the new valve (spring). They confirmed that it's OK to drive unless you get a reflash. That means another input besides the stuck anti tumble valve has kicked in.

This was the cause of my two CELs...first time they did the modification. The CEL came back a week or two later. Then they overnighted the replacement the second time. Still sucked driving a Malibu for a day.

Did you happen to notice a ringing sound as a result of this stuck valve? Or for that matter, has anyone noticed a ringing sound (kind of like a chain dragging) as a result of this stuck valve???
