bov reliability

can a bov break? or wear out?

can they be rebuilded? are there kits for that??

i bought an apexi dual chamber used and i am wondering those things..

is there a way to test it without installing it?

Honestly dude, I have never heard of that problem. If anything wrenching down on the tensioning to much wouldn't be to good to do.

Sometimes if the BOV has an internal diaphragm design, the diaphragm can eventually wear out causing a boost leak. I havent had this happen to me, just heard about it though.

I highly doubt you would encounter that sort of problem unless you have had the BOV for way too long.

nah like i said, i heard of that happening.. but never saw one doing it..

that why i was asking.. i got a good price on the apexi bov with the pipe already flanged for it.. and when i make/install my hard piping i don't wanna have a leak problem, thinking it's the piping and end up it's the bov ..or whatever problem can arise from it.

oh and i hope those dualchambers are LOUD.. i want LOUD :)

i was riding my race bike last summer and some guy with a very tweaked out mopar stage 2 srt4 pulls up beside me and and does a WOT in neutral and lets it go with a big PSSSSST.. i wasn,t paying attention much.. i was looking at 2 girls in a miata on the other side.. i almost had a heart attack..

then we took off from a stop light i wheelied, and took off in front of him like it was a ford tempo.. no challenge, i know.. but that teached him that you can't win them all (evil)

That dude's car had to have an aftermarket BOV. They come with a Bypass Valve but not a BOV.
I love scaring the shit out of people by blowing off on them.(hump)

nah i think mopar performance or something makes one.. there are ALOt of srt-4s here and ALL of them have that sick noise..

forgemotorsports sells a direct replacement of the BPV we have in fullly machined aluminum. not many people running it though, most likely cuz nobody really has a problem with their stock BPV. not sure if the Forge one flows better or not. http://www.forgemotorsport.com/content.asp?inc=product&cat=2002&product=FMDVMSP02

I just checked with a buddy of mine and "he said" that non of them come with a BOV. I dunno I'm just going off what he said and i also googled it and all I found out was that they have a BPV not BOV.

Honestly I will probably run the HKS SS on this build. They are not as load, but they look good as hell.
