View Full Version : Aftermarket #3 Mount?

Anybody know of an aftermarket #3 motor mount for the mazda 3.

I had one replaced through TSB while under warranty....and just blew another one this past weekend.

So its just not strong enough.....I am looking to have someone make me a custom one, but i would rather not risk the R&D.

This is teh mount located on the passenger side near the coolant and power steering fluid.

Innovative Mounts has built some great products for the RSX guys. I am sure they would be interested in expanding to the Mazda market...

Do you think it could be caused by the AWR mount?

if you still have the old one, I wonder if you might be able to fill it with polyurethane

are you saying that the #3 mount may be breaking because of the AWR mount? If so i guess that could be possible.

I am ordering a new #3 from RonTonkinMazda and goona work on that to beef it up. Hopefully that works.

didn't you buy goldfish's (what happend to him?) modified AWR? If anything, i thought it would be the tranny mount that needs replacing, not the passenger one.

i didn't know it could blow twice

I know that my mount was broken because of wheelhop at the track, but a stronger mount bracket + poly inserts or whatever they use to keep the motor more still would hold back on wheelhop a little bit and be worth the time in my opinion. A torque dampner would be nice too, and I have heard from ptp that they are working on one.

yeah its not the AWR rear one, its the passenger. It doesn't actually snap or anything. THe fluid just comes out and all the damper is gone....so the ride is ruff and the engine vibrates more. I already replaced it once...so actually i have broken two seperate ones.

I still do have Goldfish's mount.....we still hang out but he is no longer a 3 owner....hell half the parts on my car are from his....exhuast, sts, HIDs, intake...lol.

He drives an SRT-4 now. Just bought it like a month and half ago.
