When I changed my oil this week, I found there are cracks on the boot shown in the red box. I am thinking of replacing it... Could anybody give some info on the parts to shop and how-to's to follow?
I found the parts on this web: there are two boot kits --- inner & outer. Which one do I need, I wonder...
Thanks a lot!

OR there are replacement boots that allow you to cut the old one off and put the new on without disassemblling the joints. Check into it!

I thought about these boots, but some people said they are not as durable as the standard ones. I might still need to do the labor .

those boor replacements are junk. just replace the whole cv axle. its rally not that hard. you will have the remove the lower ball joint out of the spindle. there is a cotter pin and a castle nut. a few wacks on the spindle will help break it free and a pry bar will help pull the lower control arm down far enough to swing it outta the way. remove the axle nut in the middle of the hub. use the pry bar to pop the axle out by placing it between the transmission and the axle. just make sure that the axle in completely in before continuing on with reassemble.

Yeah... But if they are not clunking/making noise - you can go real far down the road cheaper/easier with the cheapy replacement boots.
My $.02 and what i would do.
