As much as I love my MS3, there's nothing like a nice sport/naked bike and a curvy road :)

Part of the reason I wanted the MS3 is because it's so practical. Who would buy a straight-out two-seat 'sports car' when you can buy a Japanese sports bike for ~$10k?

I've had a mess of them. It's my passion first and foremost. I have had a few vintage bikes (currently a 69 Bonnie chop) and have had everything from adventure tour bikes, to sportbikes, dual sports, touring, and supermotos.
Right now I have a YZF600R, an FJR1300ABS and the chop. I might be getting a new Triumph Sprint ST. I am still in the "asking questions" phase.

I've never owned a bike, but I've always loved 'em. I'm hoping to pick up a sportbike in the next year or so once I'm working. I've always been a fan of the GSXR bikes. I almost bought a 1989 RZ350 this fall, but I couldn't come up with the amount the seller wanted. Hopefully, soon I'll have one though.

Ive riden dirtbikes when I was younger... and Ive always told myself I was going to get a sportbike and never gotten around to it yet...


hopefully soon when its clear and nice out Ill be able to pick up a clean used 600 or just break down and buy a new 600...

we'll see though. I just dont trust myself on a bike... I know how I can get with a car... and I can already see myself doing 140mph on a bike... I do want to live to make it out of my 20s...

but yes... I love bikes!!

Speed is my worry too! I love the feeling of it and even though I am almost 37, I worry that I will do crazy things on a bike just because it has such potential for speed.

You can't live your life on the actions of others. I've lost 2 very close friends in the first 3 years I was riding. One of which died on a ride he and I were on. (there were 3 others on that ride too)
We all make choices. Motorcycles are only dangerous when they are not given the amount of respect they require. I had a nasty crash in 2000 that put me in the hospital for a few weeks and put me out of comission for a considerable amount of time. I almost bought the farm on that one. After 6 years, I wouldn't dream of quitting riding. It's my therapy.

I have had several people I know die while riding. I also have done a research project for my residency on motorcycle trauma so I am familiar with the downside of bikes. Moreover, much of the time I spend during summer evenings is in the operating room fixing fallen riders. Even still, I want to get a bike as they are so appealing. Hell, even some of my orthopaedic colleagues ride bikes. One has a old Interceptor and a Harley V-Rod. The other has a Ducati Monster. A third has several bikes and races in the Ducati Thunder Series in Ontario.

i have always loved bikes too. i used to ride all the time and have had my share of accidents and near misses. My last bike was a zxr600 ninja but since moving to houston i wont get another one. too many holes in the road, people with no insurance, driving drunk, drinking coffee or shaving in the mornings, reading papers and sometimes doing all of the above. i just cant let myself buy another while i'm living here. the last time i rode was when i dropped off the ninja at its new home, the roads were icy and the worst thing was during the 30 miles home on the back of my buddies bike it started to snow. Yikes.
My favorite bike was my husky, wr250 enduro "wheelie machine" i smile thinking about that. will post pics of them, hope to see pics of other peoples too.

it's the ppl who dont wear any gear give it a bad name. I would love to get one badly but it seems as if every1 hates them on the road and love to start some shit with you. Just be careful if any1 has one and keep the bike dream ALIVE and NOT DEAD...

Ice and bikes definitely don't mix (unless your on an ice racer). Reminds of the time when I left New England in October on my Yamaha RD400, heading South. The temperature started dropping and roads iced up. Cars were spinning out here and there around me. Several hours of slow going on pins and needles. Don't know how I made it. That's the arrogance of youth, for you. I love bikes and started riding when I was 13, but haven't had a bike in several years since my first child was born. I keep thinking about getting a Harley or something big and less likely to be ignored by the rest of the traffic. A V-Rod would be excellent, but I like the Road King also. I think my wife will go along now if I get enough insurance. Used to be out of the question b/c of the kids, but I think she's getting more mercenary as time goes on!

I love my bike. I have a Honda CBR F4 and had a Yamaha R6. They are both awesome bikes. Speed isnt a question on a bike. They are inasane. Im actually selling my Honda now but I may get one in the future.

Bikes are awesome...I started riding dirt bikes when I was 11, and quit with sport bikes when I turned 30. I've been lucky enough to never put one down on the street...if you ride in So Cal with all the fools we have on the roads here, your odds are not so good...but I sure do love em.

Anyway, the older bike was my Pops, a 1977 Kawasaki Z1, and the new one a 2003 Z1000.

My wife and I run a restoration business and restore old Japanese, British and European bikes for a living. In fact, they are such a part of my life, that that is how I met my wife was through a riders group. We have enjoyed all types from vintage to sport bikes, to off-road to touring.

Bikes are safe, fun and as stated above a form of very effective therapy. Yes, there are accidents, but there are accidents in cars too. I've had my experiences with both and wouldn't give up riding unless I had no way to get on a bike and operate it. A friend of mine actually builds bikes for handicapeed folks who wish to ride. Many of his customers are folks who were injured in motorcycle crashes but refused to give up their love and passion.

To me, there is no other way to fly.......

i've never driven a bike, but always wanted to at some point. i trust myself but not other drivers around me. especially in NJ. i'm constantly dodging accidents on a daily basis. i can only imagine it's going to be a whole lot worse on a bike

Here’s my collection of toys all bought and paid for when i was 23. I ended up selling it all when it was time to grow up and fly the nest.
I’m only 5' 9" tall and couldn’t touch the floor on the husky, i had to hang off one side and could barely get a toe down at red lights, ah, i loved that bike.
