I dont know, that's the same question i have for my P5... Yet, i've been hearing a lot of good things about K&N... I'm still not to sure yet either bro, tell me once you've decided tho!

Get the one that looks best and is in your price range. Seriously, they don't make enough power to worry about it.

all of them a pretty nice(aem, injen, siomato, k&n, etc...), will feel the difference when installed

Just remember there's a difference between short ram and cold air... I know the injen is a cold air, it will actualy pipe out of the engine bay to behind the bumper... short rams lay inside the engine bay breathing wormer air thus less horsepower... well... slightly less at this point

After measuring the heat earlier the two are going to be about a 2 degree difference, unless it is wrapped with something. Other than that, your looking a pretty much the same gains give or take point somethin HP. Both pipes will heat up to about the same temp when running at standard operational levels.

Seeing as how they're all pretty similar, and the Injen sells for over $200, I'd say grab the blue light special linked above. It's $80 shipped, but there's only one at that price. Jump on that!

hehe, i wish i would have seen that blue light earlier. but i bought my k&n for 200 shipped. brand new. to me thats a steal when u look at protegegarage.com selling them for 259.00 shipped. so yeah. ive bought one ebay intake before and im never doin that again. lol...thanks for the input guys.

It's not the pipe temp that will make the ultimate difference. It's the temperatur of the air. The air temp inside the engine bay will be more then a few degrees hotter if you drive the car arround then the air outside the engine bay. Cool air is denser and that means you'll get more air in in the same amount of time resulting in a bigger explosion in the combustion chamber giving you more horespower.

Some people may not think 1-2 hp is a big deal. But if you're a die hard Horespower fan then that makes a world of difference... more so once you get proper exhaust, manifolds, throtle bodies and so on.

yeah...but the hole opening for the cold air extension is not that big. bcuz i have a cold air on my other protege and the piping moves and hits the side of the cutout. thus damaging the pipe. so for right now i think ill stay away from the cold. lol. 1 to 2 less horse's is fine by me.

a fan belt should fix your problem.. and well stiffer engine mounts. I'm not doing anything to my car untill i get them engine mounts in.
