I think it looks good... it almost reminds me of the way the evo's upper grille looks

I think it would look better on the DX LX and ES. If you know someone with one try it out. If it looks good I'd buy one. The over all grill looks nice, but on your bumper it sits to far back.

thats the point, i wanted it to sit far back so that it gives it a more aggressive look.

what do you guys think its worth, it took a while to think of a good way to make it. i would say, considering other aftermarket grilles are $200+ i would sell them for $80 plus shipping to wherever its going. let me know what you guys think.

i painted the radiator black and the grille glossy black now. in the picture it was just primed. it looks a lot better now. as far as thickness, what other mesh could i use to make a look thicker? thanks

im on the fence about it. i mean.... sorta like it and sorta dont. i think i would need to see it in person. and i agree that perhaps if it were a tad thicker it would help. anyways.....if you are considering selling these (if you do find interest) you need to make sure to clear it with antoine first. anyone that sells things to the mass needs a lil clearance first.

thanks, thats why im thinking of starting a poll to measure interest. if i see there is interest then ill clear it with antoine, thanks for your help, also how would you suggest making it thicker, what should i use?

I'm not sure how to make it thicker per say, but it would be nice if it were overall more opaque. My problem with yours and the AutoExe style grills is that you can see the radiator, etc. and it leaves the car looking unfinished.

Perhaps try putting another piece of the same mesh behind the existing one, offset so that the X's of one piece are right in the O's of the other. Did that make sense? Do you see what I'm getting at? Essentially double up the mesh and see how that looks.

By the way, good for you making your own. I picked up an extra stock grill for just this purpose, but I haven't figured out yet what to do with it to make it different, without just looking like I cut away a bunch of a stock grill!

Edit: I just looked at the picture again, and remembered: Whatever you do with it in the end, you may want to make the bottom grille match the top, as far as the mesh goes, just for consistancy.

i dont really know. where did you get the mesh stuff you got now? not sure where you live but maybe there are some plastic companies in the area that sell much more specific stuff. im an architecture student and i sometimes gotta goto specialty places that typically deal with contractors and such to get unique things. maybe check the yellow pages.

Well like I said, go put in on a regular sedan and take a picture for me. The bumpers are different so it will look different. I really think it will look better on a sedan. If I'm right and it does look good I'd buy one for my car for 80 bucks.

i picked up a stock grille too and hacked away at it, but it was impossible to do anything with it since i didn't want the lip under the hood.

thats what im sayin, overlay it so its not so......see through......im sure if you go to like, lowes or somewhere they might have different styles and thickness. if you do decide to keep it, make the bottom grill the same. what about a billet grill....?

I don't think it needs to be thicker, just pushed more towards the front maybe... I definitely like the concept...maybe a slightly different approach
