Just wanted to make off a check off list. I asked and seen the question of what one needs for an oem MSP turbo kit. So here what I've got so far. I'm going to try to post prices as well as part numbers, and update this post every so often. This way people can really see what the conversion takes and what the cost is.
1. Manifold with Mazdaspeed heatshield
2. Turbocharger (Garret T25)
3. S-pipe
4. Side mount intercooler (OEM or Aftermarket)
5. Air pipes
6. Fuel pump and fuel regulator

Here is an edited list using more aftermarket to make things a little cheaper:

if you are doing a side mount intercooler, you'll need the MSP a/c condensor as well.. and then an a/c recharge since you'll release your refrigerant swapping condensors.. that's why I did a FMIC with mine.
you don't need the MSP oil pan, it's no different. If you do the oil return to the pan, you just need a stainless steel fitting from Summit and like 25 bucks to have it tig welded onto the pan (as high up on the pan as possible)
you don't need the fuel pump and fuel regulator -- msp one isn't different.
you'll need oil feed/return stuff (around a hundred dollars for stainless steel lines/fittings, maybe a little more) as well as coolant feed return lines and the oem water return elbow (50 bucks)
plus 200 for misc nuts/bolts/gaskets from Mazda

Cool Guys thanks, more or less trying to consolidate those and put a price on the whole thing, as well as finding ways of budgetting a few items by using aftermarket. Like a cheap FMIC so one can keep the radiator, for example.
More or less a kit that mimicks the MSP kit, but will cost less. (first) So that anyone who wants MSP power levels can do so on a budget. Though I would like to add that Hiboosts budge kit is a great deal for $2500. The only thing is that you still need EMS and a Blow off valve.
I don't suppose the hiboost kit could ust the MSP ECU for EMS could it?

exactly what I did. In the end, it would probably have been cheaper to get the hiboost budget kit but I'm pretty sure the GT25R is a better turbo

From what I can see in your list you are trying to put something together that will just make the car run. My advice is if you are really gonna do it, do it right. Get either the MSP manifold or something similar since the MSP clocks the turbo at an angle. I have a Hiboost Mani tht clocks it flat.
If you are going to use an FMIC you wont need the radiator or condenser. And wont be limited to what manifold you will use. With the MSP manifold you are forced into getting the usual stuff unless you go custom. Also FMICs on ebay are the suck and so is that OBX manifold. (BTW it wont bolt up to a t25 flange either). You wont need the fuel pump and as for a regulator go with at least a DSM AFC which works MUCH better than a FPR. Also wont need the oil pan from an MSP you will want the piece located above it(the name escapes my mind right now). Myself I tapped into my stock oil pan as high as possible and has not failed on me since. Oil support pan I think is the name.... Not shutting down your ideas but I went down that road as well. It's REALLY not worth half assing the quality of products you buy. Quality products usually bring reliability and better power response.

It's an IHI turbo but I don't know what model. Plus, I know the Callaway MSP manifold flows really well too

the callaway manifold does not flow well and has a tendency to break. Why are you going through effort to make it a msp setup, there is NOTHING good about the MSP setup aside from the BB turbo. NOTHING> You dont want the mani, pipes stock IC and ESPECIALLY THE STOCK ECU! its garbage. If I knew people would buy mine for $300 Id get a stock LX ECU and a DSM afc. (I already have the Afc its great use that rather then a crap msp ecu) trust me you are going to be paying for problems lol get a good manifold not the msp get a turbo bigger then the T25R since you are running stock motor and the diff between lag with different turbos at such a low boost pressure is neglegable until you statt boost 14+psi so get something nice and big like a T3/T4. Buy the ebay FMIC and get a downpipe and intercooler piping made at an exhaust shop/ trust me the msp setup sucks/

they might have race league rules about how much you can modify your engine. similar to SCCA autocross.
but i do agree that the MSP manifold isn't the best in terms of flow. but if you are building a kit from scratch, you can usually see one pop up for sale on these forums from time to time for a good deal. how many great flowing MAM turbo manifolds or other aftermarket manifolds do you see for sale?!

no.. I know for a fact there isn't a rule about the manifold in the league.
I got an MSP mani for 75 dollars.. what manifold can you get for anywhere near that price? I think you can get the cast non-equal-length hiboost mani for ~250 or 350, don't remember. Aside from that.. there's no mam, there's no factory MSP replacement manifold.. really limited choices.

Mine cost me like 370 and it has runers inside the manifold. AND has a lifetime warranty.... :)

Thats the thing you either go hiboost or go MSP setup. People always say the MSP is expensive, but at other times they're the cheapest options I'm just trying to put things in perspective.

yup alot of people look for the mp3 ecu. i would swap that out with a regular protege or even a p5 ecu instead. some people can use the msp ecu, but i see them using piggy backs etc. would just be cheaper to go with a regular ecu n get a piggyback.
