I think im going to the track this weekend and i havent yet run the MSP in quarter yet.. Any baseline someone can give me on shift points? rpm wise.. Thanks. Michael.

i usually bounce off the rev limiter in first, second, and third gear. that should give you enough time to finish.

I bet thats a great idea.........

I usually rev 2500 and then drop the clutch off the start at the line, then run up to around 6300 rpm each gear till I hit the finish

actually
its been proven that anything beyond 5500RPMS is just a waste

if you dyno your car, you'll know your shiftpoints

just look at what RPM's the torque is higher..

we did this test on my friends msp..
he does 250whp at 5500 rpms
we shifted right at red line...it felt fast
we shifted right at 5500...DAMN! it felt even faster

after 5500, the car is just doing a little bit more horsepower, but the torque curve is going down...

dyno your car to find out your best shift points

I shift at redline in 1st, 6000 in 2nd, and 5800 in 3rd. By about the time you shift to fourth you should be crossing.

if you have a boost gauge, it probably tapers off at high rpm, shift when its goin low, thats what ive been doing. about 6000 is when ill shift it.

even though the boost is dropping off you should still stay in the gear til at least 6K rpm so you are at a higher rpm in the next gear. there are a bunch of threads about this do a search.

if you wanna fix the problem reference you wastegate vacume source from before the intercooler. you will be able to set your boost accurately and not taper off at higher rpms. If it still doesnt work just adjust the stock wastegate actuator rod to be where you want your boost level.

Shift above 6K before 7K. It doesnt hurt your motor. If you are floor shifting make sure you can get it in gear before you hit the limiter. If you still have the conical lsd you might wanna rethink the trip/.

i feel if I shift right at 6000k or right before your right back in the powerband. However, at the track I'll take it over 6000k to try and get a good trap speed..
