The Mazda "Wave"

In one of the other threads it was mentioned that car owners of certains types of cars do a "Wave". As an Evo owner I always wave to other Evo owners and usually get a return wave or honk.

Is there nothing like that for Mazda? I will be driving my new Mazda more than my Evo and I would like to have that same type of cameraderie. Any ideas on a Mazda "Wave"? ...Maybe something related to Zoom Zoom?

People in other mazda's won't even look at me if I pull up to a light next to them much less wave to me as I ride by. My friend has a WRX and he gets honked at and waved at all the time. I guess I don't look like a friendly guy.

I give most of my fellow but rarely seen MSP and speed3 owners, a nod or a wave, i have yet to get one back so then i give em a one finger salute. Still no response, oh well ill keep on trying. Got a wave from a black a4 the other day though. But i do like the idea of some comraderie 'tween us speeds 3 or otherwise. You could do like three lll fingers, but then someone might mistake it for a west side sign.

Since I have had my 3, I have only seen a couple of other 3's, and no MS3's. I will always wave to a fellow 3 (either type), just like I always wave at other motorcycles when I am riding.

one time I saw an MSP .. and he pulled up next to me at the light and was asking me all sorts of questions about my car (since it is obviously modded.. at least during the summer with my different wheels/hood on).. but yeah I agree a wave or something would be awesome. I always at least smile when I see another p5 just because they make me so happy :D

Hmm... if the driver looked like a thug, I guess I'd be a little hesitant to wave/ honk. It wouldn't be too cool to get beat up (or shot) thanks to a friendly gesture. >_<

I feel really badly for those screen actors who play the roles of bad guys all the time just because they have that criminal look which says, "if you sneeze, I'll kill you". I bet some of them get arrested even! "Officer! I swear that guy's a criminal!" -_-;;

everytime i wave at someone they want to race or kick into a lower gear...i didn't know my hand was a race flag. almost as worse as waving at an old person driving the car and have no idea why im waving at them. I've found that people like to be cool/stupid rather than enjoy the brand we all love to drive.

i've waved with responses
i've chased after msps and had actually made really good friends this way (two of my buddies i had chased down the street after they thinking i was racing them)
i'm not a racist, and i saw a black dude in a black neighborhood driving the same car as mine, a yellow msp...i stopped him and asked him about it...why would someone shoot you after you telling them "nice car!!!" and he realizing u have the same car
i've honked and had been ignored many times..

don't do it with just any car
MSP's are always best, then the midly modded p5, because if u honk at every p5, some old lady will curse at you...
sorry dudes...you just don't see a granny driving an MSP, but you do see them driving p5's...since they are waggons and grocery getters :P lol

I think we need something "zoom zoom" related. And maybe Mazda America could work this into their ad campaigns (Yeah, I know, I'm crazy). Look at what VW is doing with their "unpimp your Auto" campaign and the lab tech doing his VW sign. I'm not saying we should do something as retarded as putting our hands up in the shape of an "M" or anything but there should be something we can do...

Maybe the ad guys at Mazda could come up with something and that could be the basis for the next ad campaign. I mean, look at Mini owners... I see them waving at eachother all the time.

I figured out how to make the fanged M with my hands but that requires taking both hands off the steering wheel. On second thought, nevermind.

Mustang guys usually always wave honk or flash lights at each other. I see Jeep guys do it too, but I never have had that happen in any of my other cars. You need a real emotional attachment to a vehicle for that to happen I think and it might not really be there with some of these cars.

Relax, As I said in my post we don't need something retarded like the "fanged M" or the VW "Unpimp my ride". But it would be interesting if we could come up with something original and recognizable as pure MAZDA!!

keep the ideas commin.. though the only people i see driving my car are older ladies, or young chicks that daddy bought it for em... not to often i see a modded one... and thats really the only person you're going to get a wave from is some one else who loves their car enough to mod/make it theirs.
