Cant go in reverse

I just rear ended smeone this morning and now my car wont reverse or go to neutral. The car is driveable, bumper is cracked, cooling got pushed in a couple inches. His car was a 90s chevy astro and the rear bumper was just bent. He had a triler hitch with the ball and dug in to the buttom of mine. I have the autostick trans, i can move from P to D must it wont engage R or N, when I put on any gear it just wants to go foward. Since I turned it off it wont start becuse it wont fin P or N. Does anyone know how to take the cover off fron the gear shifter??

I would start by checking to see if you pushed the engine back, you might have something pushing on the shifter linkage or gear select cable (if auto) stoping you from moving it where it needs to be.
