Im finally gonna change my own oil, but I wanna know if I should put a tad bit more or just fill it to the full line. Been reading some posts on here about people spinning bearings. (peep)

i always fill it up to the top, then between each run i check it to make sure it's still good

It'll cost ya 400.00 to be worry-free. That's what the AWR oil pan runs. Other than that keep checking as was stated. The question remains, how full were the other people's cars that did spin rod bearings during autoXing? I know....not full enough, but what did their dipsticks say prior to damage?

correct, then you'll just burn off the exess and that's not good, I run 4 quarts but also use a bigger filter to compensate

The AWR pan is not enough to be worry free.. it just has baffles, no one-way trap doors or anything to keep the oil on all sides of the pan.

Worry freer, less worrysome. I know the oil pan doesn't counteract G's, but the pickup has less chance of suckin air is where I was going with that.....................

I used to run an extra 1/2 quart in mine. There is enough room for it if you consider that the filter and oil channels in the motor will take up at least half a quart. The FS-DE has the aluminum windage tray just below the crank so you don't have to worry about oil splashing up on the crank. The only time the extra oil will be a factor is at startup whn the majority of the oil is in the pan. Under normal use the extra 1/2 quart will be in circulation.
