It doesn't reveal much, but this spy photo of the 2009 Ford Mustang does indicate there's an overhaul in progress for the Blue Oval's pony car. With competition looming from the Chevrolet Camaro and Dodge Challenger, the Mustang is going to need a little refresh to stay competitive. Although the front end of this prototype bears a few similarities to the Giugiaro designed concept (http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/AutoshowArticles/articleId=117706) shown at the L.A. auto show this year, we would be surprised if the final version looks anything like the Italian stallion. At least, that's what we hope as the concept was hardly what we would call a step in the right direction.
