think about putting a open dump tube on my ms6. Wondering if any buddy has done it yet and how it will sound and performance gain.

do you mean an o2 dump, or a cut-out? either would net you some improvement and eliminate a lot of the exhaust restriction...o2 dump would be the best, but I'm not sure if anyone currently mass produces an upgraded o2housing/dp...

PM MS6Freek or 4DRHTRD. Both have done it, in addition to a pile of other mods.

open dump meaning a divorced wastegate pipe? I've only actually heard one of those on a DSM (GS-T) and the sound it made once the turbo was up to full boost was a bit.. rough.

It will be VERY loud. You would not want to drive around like that everyday...

the noise almost isn't worth the gain. the whole car vibrates when you have an open downpipe. the cool thing is now it will sound like a 500hp drag car, but the downside is it will sound like a 500hp drag car all the time.

Not necessarily. You can get the ones with a remote controlled throttle-plate that opens up and can be closed back up within seconds.

open dump isnt bad at all. i ran an o2 dump on my 1g talon. it was awesome wot and scared people shitless when i would randomly hit it on highway next to older people lol. makes your boost sit rock steady at whatever you set it too also, only reason i did it. the sound it makes will never make you think twice to whether you should of done it or not. BUT, when your makin half boost just rollin around you can hear it open up a bit and makes it sound like you have an exhaust leak thats just annoying. thats the only thing that bugged me. exhaust cutout at downpipe would probably be a better solution.

Like the QTP unit that MS6Freek runs.

maybe i won't get and i'll just do the turbo back exhaust system.
