hey guys i was wondering if you could help me out.

ive recently installed a short ram intake a week ago or so, and i was runnign alright, but then my CEL went off. well i tried reseting the ECU and it went off, but then i started getting a rough idle. so i took off and cleaned the EGR valve, and now it was idling fine, i rode for a while more and the CEL went off again. i took it to autozone, the code said the engine was running rich. is this because the ecu is picking up the extra air and pushing the injectors. it feels almost like i am getting worse gas mileage. also, now, when i drive, everytime i come to a light, the car idles for like 5 seconds @ 700RPM, then 1 second it will drop to like 500RPM, then return to 700 and be fine...any suggestions?

thanks in advanced, sorry for the long post...

if you can post the actual code that is being set, it would make diagnostics much, much easier

If its an Injen it shouldn't give you any trouble. Our 2.0 L run on the rich side anyway, but your right about the extra air getting into the engine. It shouldn't cause a CEL though. I'd make sure that you don't have any air leaks at the intake couplings just to make sure. The code you got would be helpful in giving you specific advice.

okay. thanks for your imput. i am going to make sure all of the coupliungs are tight and run over to autozone for an exact code. the IAT sensor is approwimately 3-4 inches before the MAF. almost the same spot where the stock one was located. why?

i had a vacuum hose come off on the top of my intake manifold, that threw an immediate check engine light and my car ran like ass till i found it. check all your hoses make sure youre not leaking anywhere
btw i have a SRI as well, and it was just snowing here and i had no problems.
