you could always try running without it.... its illegal in my state but i haven't had a problem yet. It all depends on where you live and what the cops are like there.

I haven't had a front license plate for god knows how long. I'm always curteous to the 5-0 so I haven't caught any shit about it yet. I might try the windshield if I were you.

Mine is in the lower grill, but i dont have a FMIC. So for you i say buy an evo bracket from a mitsu dealer and put it on the side of the bumper. thats what my gay honda friends do.

Read your post and thought of this, not a bad idea:

that draws more attention than simply not having one. ive been asked many a time about my lack of front license plate. i always just say i have a bracket on the way from mazda.

my car came with a front license plate bracket cause i bought the car in texas. im not going to use it if you need it pm me your info and i can send it to you. i took it off cause i dont need one here in arizona. you'll have to take of the bumper and it goes in the middle of the bumber, it does cover the fmic a little bit but u can always put it on the side. let me know. kelvin

Cant you just throw it up on the dash on the passenger side? And use the ...waiting on a bracket excuse if needed?

Well I finally got pulled over for no front plate. I have drove my mazda for almost a year and a half now. I am also thinking of ideas for where to put a plate. I just got custom plates also. If I am gonna pay for two plates might as well use them both. I might toy around with a way to mount it by where the fog light would go on the driver side. I have an 03.5 so no fog lights.

Here is what I did with mine. Doesn't block the fog light and exposes much more of the FMIC.

The bracket is a cheap ebay thing found here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LICENSE-PLATE-RELOCATOR-Bracket-92-95-CIVIC-EG-Dx-Si-Ex_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ36475QQihZ012QQitemZ 220073754160QQrdZ1

looks more obvious than no front plate

Meaning they will pull you over faster? Is it legal for them to be behind the windshield? Im glad I dont have to worry about this anyways, FL FTW!

im just saying a license plate sitting behind the windshield draws alot more attention than a perfectly clean front end.

I have yet to prove this theory in a real world situation.... but upon having a similar conversation with a friend of mine, he brought up an interesting point. Having your liscence plate sitting up by the windshield may be fine in your day to day driving. However during a high speed collision your running the risk of having a flat, relatively sharp, metal projectile flying at you. Now this could be BS, but I for one would not care to remove a liscence plate from my forehead.

The body shop forgot to use the hardware I had supplied to attach the license bracket from the inside, so I have to take my front bumper off in order to remove my front plate and bracket :(

After that first $250 ticket I got for no front plate on my 240, I said it wasn't worth it.

Well for it to acually strike you in the head with enough force to do serious damage you would have to be t-boned in the driver side, and in a car as small as ours im sure the lp would be the least of your worries. Get double sided tape or just go put it on the bumper where its suposed to be.

If the fine was only $45 I would do it. Stupid MD laws!

Why do states require a front plate anyways? Sounds like a way to make more tax money to me.
