Can someone measure the shifter height on the Speed3 for me? I want to do a write up on how to get a FREE short shift for Mazda3 and Speed3 - probably works for the Mazda 6 as well.
My short shifter height now is 5 - 5/8 " with the shifter in neutral.
Should have measured it before I modded it, but forgot.
Thanks!!!!:)
Measure from the edge of the console to the top of the shift knob as show here:

did you cut that shifter? That is not all that goes into designing a shifter with shorter throws. I will measure mine tomorrow.

Yes it is cut down - but there is more to it than that. Come on man SOMEONE get out their tape measure and MEASURE - (accurately please). (glare)
I'll put the whole process in a how to as soon as I get the measurement for stock height in neutral. :):)

Although I am not all that interested is shortening my shifter, standing stock in neutral is 6 5/16" according to my eyeballs. Yes, I used a tape measure.

Thanks. That is only .68" less and I thought for sure there was more than this. Could someone else measure theirs to double check?
