Trunk Spring Help.

Howdy fellas, it's been a while...sigh. I'm reinstalling the trunk spring(the metal rods that allow the trunk to open.) It's been about 1.5 years without them so i'm a little rusty. Do have to unbolt the kenwood rack in tha back to put the rods back in? I have a feeling yes, i just wanted to clearify before i got all crazy.

be careful TR, when i sold my CFtrunk and had to put my wingless stocker on, those damn springs scared me to death, lol
