So, my parents got me a billet aluminum coolant tank from protege garage (thanks ken!) for christmas. I think this will really help out the look of my engine bay since the stock ungly tank has been relocated front and center due to the intercooler install.

Anywho, i had a question for anyone who has installed this before.... since the hose connects to the top, how do you get an effective flow of coolant?? I seem to recall someone suggesting simply putting a smaller hose inside the main hose that extends down to the bottom of the tank, BUT, if that smaller hose isn't exactly the same diameter as the hole it goes through at the top, the radiator system will also see air drawn into it (that gets in from around the hose). Anyone got some suggestions??

Does it have a nipple for the hose on the outside and indside or is it just a hole for the hose to go through? Either way you can make it work, I've seen everything as a catch can (plastic bottle) as long as you can get a hose to the bottom it should be good.

it an overflow tank. Dont worry about it pulling air in.. if you look at your stock one, it does the same thing.

well.... nutari ran it for a while as just an overflow tank, without the ability to bring the coolant back in, with no problems. I think if i can figure an easy way to get a tube down to the bottom i may still do that, if not than i'll just run it that way.
