P5 is shorter in the axleback protion, will fit, but its gonna be about 4 inches too short.

no prob man. Most people get the one for the sedan for their P5 and have it cut and re-welded, im sure the oposite can be done with no problems either, its just that the rear end on the P5 is a bit shorter.

I really don't see how this would be difficult....Nearly every popular model is made in both lengths....Racing Beat, Magnaflow, Bosal, Megan, pretty much all of them....So where the hell are you looking???? Look up Mazdaspeed protege...same exhaust, just don't get a 3" cause you got no turbo flow...

there is nothing listed on megan's site for a exhaust for the sedan only the p5... do you know if the muffler has all of the hangers in the same location??

I guess I was wrong about the Megan....You don't want the Megan anyway....Too loud...

The hangers are all in the same points as in the sedan...The tip of the P5 is about 2" shorter than the sedan....

i was thinking about getting a megan or even a "ebay" one and i can only find one for p5's... if i got the ebay one i would use the muffler if it was quiet enough... (and still use the rest of the piping)... if it wasent i would get a magnaflow muffler (at work i can get em for $135 ish cdn)... i'm on a budget and i wont order a bolt-on exhaust if it is going to cost much, because i can get a full custom one for around 200 or less.... but i dont mind if i have to extend the piping a little bit to make it fit...

so is it the piping after the axle, and before the muffler that is a different length, correct??

I know i may be confusing... sorry, and thanks for the help

OH and the ebay one i was refering to is this one ( http://cgi.ebay.ca/02-03-MAZDA-PROTEGE-5-CATBACK-N1-MUFFLER-EXHAUST-SYSTEM_W0QQitemZ160067694807QQihZ006QQcategoryZ336 30QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem )

The difference in length is after the muffler, on the exhaust tip pipe, so I don't think the Megan could be altered to work because it is a canister type with the 4" tip...If you can get the MagnaFlow Cat-back for 135cnd...It's a steal...That is one of the best out there...Check out Racing Beat..save your money and wait until you can afford it....

If your only looking for a new muffler look in the For Sale section for the 2003 or 2003.5 MSP OEM axle-back....It's made by Racing Beat and sounds great on the car...Don't get the one's on Ebay by Bosal, these have MAZDASPEED on the tip...get one with RACING BEAT on the tip...

Good luck and it's okay to be confused...It's my state of being...

i can get a magnaflow muffler for 135 (if that was for a cat-back i would have it long ago... i priced the magnaflow catback and it was around 7 or 800... which seams crazy to pay for a catback)... thanks for the help

I think your best bet is to look for something used. Otherwise, the Mazdaspeed Sport exhaust is $148.75 US at Mazdastuff. I think it is just a muffler though...I could be wrong.

I would def recommend getting one used from either someone here on the Forum or possibly E-Bay? But i would stay away from the whole welding thing.

I've heard cork sports "power series" is hands down the best for our cars.. but everyone has different opinions. Thats the exhaust i'm going to go with.. i can't stand how raspy my shit is. Its not THAT bad but after installing the header it got load as hell.. i can't even talk on my phone unless its on speaker and right up to my ear hahaha
