That's gotta suck. There's definately not a cheap price tag on re-building one of those cars.

I watched rounds 3 and 4 (Mosport and Mid-Ohio) and that was honestly some of the best racing I've watched in a while. While there were faster and slower cars / drivers (probably due to set up and driver), it was really close raceing the whole way through. It's a wonder what a REAL spec series (as opposed to Spec Cheatiata) looks like.

MX-5 Cup is as spec as it gets. The drivetrains are sealed.
There are so many tricks to building a competitive Spec Miata racer, it really isn't "Spec" anymore. A "built", legal 1.6L car that is considered stock (and for all practical purposes is) is placing 120HP at the wheels!

I love watching the mx-5 racing series. I would love to drive in one of the races, a true test of driver skill and endurance. ;)

No. What's your point? It says Familia.
Just cuz it doesn't say Protege5 doesn't mean it's not a Protege5.

I was working that race. I was at the uphill, we had a car slap the armco right in front of us(on tv all you saw was the car limping back to the pits and the commentator saying something about his door being open). The car flipping over was something else. The camera guy with us let us watch the replay on his camera, scary shit. good races though (first)

It happened really fast, he got nudged a little and pancaked the armco right in front of us then spun middle of the track(in a cloud of dust). When it cleared he was gone. You see some of the best action working on the track.
