View Full Version : Battery?
Basic question, With a MSP with heavy mods what is the best battery have? My battery died after 2 months but it was not daily driven. Does the amount I drive my car affect the life of a battery?

I've got the Optima red top. Plenty of juice, no complaints.

The stocker sucks, I killed mine in a few months.
Now that I have changed the battery, my car will not turn over. I have got power, it it just not cranking. The car has sat for 5 days does that affect anything.

do you have any power? Does your lights turn on or anything like that? If not then double check to make sure you have the terminals on the battery on tight. Then check to make sure yoiur wires are ok. If all that checks out its time to start checking fuses.
I have got power. Lights, A/F gauge, cd player it all comes on. Could it be the starter? The car only has 22,000mi on it

check the alternator. Try to jump the car whit another car. if your car turns on disconnect the battery while the car is running, if the car dies you have a bad alternator and that is why your car doesnt star.

I just dealt with this about three days ago. Shut the car. lock it and open with the key. Try it. Sounds dumb but it worked. Maybe its something with the alram or something. Not sure.

Yeah i bet thats it. You need to reset alarm by hitting the unlock button. I did that once.
appreciate guys, I jumped it, let run, shut it off & did the alarm trick. Its all gravy and runnin again.

I'm still on my stock battery at 61,600 miles. A few times, it has run down enough when I let it sit. Especially if I leave the alarm on. But it always comes back to life with a charge.
And any time that I disconnect the battery, I always have to hit the alarm remote to get it to start. Its a good idea to disconnect the battery to prevent it from running down if you are going to let it sit for a month or more.

Thats the fix right there. I found out when I changed my plugs and cleaned my battery. I started to worry but for some dumb reason decided to use the keyless entry button and then it turned right over.A Kinda cool security feature i guess.
