Hey guys! This is my first post here.

I was wondering if anybody with an 01-03 Protege DX/LX/ES has gone turbo without having to replace any body panels. From what I've heard, a turbo setup with a FMIC won't fit in our cars but I haven't confirmed this.

I'm wanting to upgrade to a turbo setup (HiBoost) but wish to keep the stock front end.

Thanks!

djarkitek has a turbo setup using the factory body panels. You can find his ride on page 69 of the 3rd Generation owners photo's.

yeah, you should be fine, as long as you go with one of the kits designed for your car..

if you're doing a custom turbo setup, you probably might end up cutting a bit of the bumper cover inside and bumper (reinforcement bar) itself, deppending on the FMIC size. Kooldino has a custom turbo setup and he had to cut his bumper; bbsf2 has custom turbo setup and in order to fit his (my) FMIC, he had to trim the inside of the bumper cover.

It all deppends on what parts you're planning on getting.....size-wise.
