Into an MSP??!

I just thought about it, then realized I didnt buy a honda... :)

I would assume no ones ever attemped... I could be wrong though.

I dont see the point however, because by the time you do it all, you could have stayed with the FS-DE and built the motor to withstand higher boost and power.

well when there is no engine in it (threw a rod through the block a week ago) and the dealership is saying they might not cover it under warranty.. Id be going to court over that matter if they didnt, cause 3 weeks after I got the car it blew up and I havent even made my first payment.. so after all would be said and done, it would have a k20 swap in it..

plus a k20 is a better platform to start out with then an fs-de.. My car got beat by a bone stock 02 type-s from a 45-70 roll (car in his lane).. He pulled 1/2 car on me..

check out www.protegegarage.com for a possible replacement motor, or a built motor.

I would think the actual cost of the k20 would be around 3000-4000 for a decent engine, then all the custom fab work (mounts, wiring, etc etc) you would be looking at a rather large sum of money. The fsde can be a very strong little engine for much less money and be much more fun to drive. The sponsors on the site offer built blocks for 3000$ + or - minus depending on upgrades added. With a new clutch and some sort of standalone ecu you could be running 250-300whp very safely! I owned a RSX-S as my last car and the difference on insurance costs were huge!! The Acura was 4800$ a year and the Mspeed is only 1800$. If the dealership does not warranty the block and internals, I would think about going this route. Jus my 0.02, good luck with the dealership (if only Mazda put in some decent rods from the get-go im sure more people would be very pleased with the mspeed and not having to worry about the time bomb waiting to pop)

Why even bother, the MSP doesn't have a good motor but it can be rebuilt forged for a lot less than the K20 conversion. I have even taken on the type-s many times and it's not that fast. My friend at work kept talking trash so we went and a week after again and again but he kept loosing. My only mods at the time were CAI, axle back exhaust and boost at 7psi. Now with T3 turbo, turbo back exhaust, MPI, boost set at 9.5psi I wont even bother.

I got pulled on by a stock type-s from a 45 to ~75.. I have intake, apexi n1 exhaust, 2.5" catless dp and thats about it.. I got the jump and when I shifted to 3rd he started pulling back.. He had about half a car on me when we stopped.. I have an mbc, but took it off because it would hit fuel cut on just 6 lbs..
