Does any one know how hard it would be to put a defrost mirror on a 2002 pro5. some one pulled my mirror off so i have to replace it any ways and theres one local. i was thinking that i could just T-tap in to the rear defrost wires to run the mirrow with it also, is this doable

Not that I'm aware of, but it probably could be done. I remember reading how most cars either come with power mirrors, or heated mirrors but never both. Well, my brother's GLI Jetta certainly has both so I don't see why our P5 couldn't too ..

If someone does this mod I would be greatful to them forever, I would love to have this done to my P5!!

Here's an alternative suggestion.... coat the mirror in Rain-X or similar water-repellant. This is a great trick. B/c water won't stick to it, instead of a thick fogging/frosting over, it'll bead up and you can see. Or if the problem is ice/snow etc, once again, it won't stick - so if any even will form on it (less likely b/c its a vertical surface) it'll just slide/fall right off w/ a good whack.

I haven't tried this yet on my p5 since it hasn't become an issue yet, but used to do it all the time when we lived in the mountains.
